What is FULL HD?
FULL HD is one of the most sophisticated display technology that released by Sony. Currently there are approximately 12 Bravia LCD TV series that have been launched by Sony. Each series came with their sophistication and uniqueness of each. However, only 5 series are Full HD-capable, They are X-series, ZX-series, Z-series, WE-series, and W-series. So what is FULL HD? What is the advantage offered by the FULL HD?
Full HD, short for Full High Definition, is a television display technology that vastly improves the video quality of your favourite television programmes and DVD movies, presenting everything in finer details. With over two million pixels, Full HD contains up to four times the details of what you’re used to seeing on a Standard Definition television.
Twice the resolution of conventional HD, Full HD’s edge over HD lies in its supreme picture quality; details become sharper, the colours more vivid, and images more lifelike. Be it movies, television programmes or gaming, Full HD TV will create the ultimate visual experience.
To picture Full HD TV resolution, imagine that the TV screen is being made of tiny colored dots, or pixels. Resolution refers to the number of pixels displayed. The more pixels there are, the higher the picture quality. These pixels are arranged into horizontal lines running across the TV screen. Resolution is therefore determined by counting the lines of pixels running across the screen, in this case- 1080 horizontal lines of 1920 pixels.
On many occasions, you would see HD resolution being described as 1080p or 1080i. Full HD is commonly referred to as 1080p.
What are the advantages of Full HD?
With High Definition, you’re getting more than 4 times of images you can get from conventional Standard Definition TVs and create a more natural, wide field of vision.
Crystal Clear Images
Full HD displays lifelike colours no other digital TV can. Its level of realism enhances your enjoyment of the movie or television programme. With well over two million pixels in the 1920 by 1080 resolution, it can capture details so minute, you will notice things that you’ve missed out before.
Why FULL HD in widescreen format?
One of the more standout features of HD is its aspect ratio of 16:9. This refers to the dimension in terms of width and height of your display. HD pictures are more rectangular compared to the standard 4:3 format of traditional television, a more square-like frame.
Its advantage is its ability to offer extra details on both sides, creating a panoramic-like view to simulate a movie theatre experience. With this wider format, you can now watch widescreen movies and HD TV shows with no black bars running across the top and bottom of the screen, and be able to view the sides of the screen with all the picture details. With Standard Definition, the movie is being made to fit to its square frame and the picture details on either side of the screen are lost.
In summary, the obvious advantage of Full HD over HD and Standard Definition is its ability to offer superior picture quality, offering you the best in home entertainment. It’s time to get that Full HD BRAVIA LCD TV.
